Power, light and radio, with no power point in sight.

Phone's flat, the power's out or you're three days into a camping trip. This little red radio keeps going: wind the hand crank, sit it in the sun, or charge it by USB before you leave. It runs an AM/FM radio, a bright LED torch, and tops up your phone through its USB port.

Three ways to charge it

  • Hand crank: wind it up when there's nothing else.
  • Solar panel: on top, charges in the sun.
  • USB: charge it fully at home before you go.

What it does

  • AM/FM radio with a telescopic aerial: news, footy and weather on the local stations
  • Bright LED torch for the tent, the shed or a blackout
  • USB output to give your phone some emergency charge
  • Splash-resistant (IPX3, supplier rating): fine in light rain, not for submerging
  • Wrist strap and pocket-sized: 12.8 x 6 x 4.5 cm, about 220 g

Good for

  • Camping, fishing and 4WD trips
  • Work sites and the ute glovebox
  • The emergency kit at home for storms and blackouts

Specs

  • Material: ABS plastic, red
  • Size: 12.8 x 6 x 4.5 cm, about 220 g
  • Radio: AM 520–1700 kHz, FM 87–108 MHz
  • Built-in rechargeable battery
  • In the box: 1 x Solar Crank Emergency Radio

Phone charging from the crank is slow: it's for an emergency top-up, not a full charge. Specs are from the supplier.

Good questions

Will cranking charge my phone?

It gives your phone an emergency top-up, not a full charge. Cranking is slow, so charge the radio by USB before you head off and use the crank and solar as backup.

Is it waterproof?

It's splash-resistant (IPX3, supplier rating), so light rain is fine. Don't submerge it.

Does it need batteries?

No. It has a built-in rechargeable battery that you charge by crank, sun or USB.

How long does delivery take?

Usually 7–15 business days from our overseas warehouse, with tracking. Free shipping over $100, $9.95 under.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery if it's unused. Faulty items are always covered under the Australian Consumer Law. Shipping & returns
